Position Overview
You are the person who makes the jobsite run. As On-Site Superintendent, you carry full accountability for everything that happens in the field — daily production, trade coordination, quality control, safety, and project delivery on time and on budget. This is not a monitoring role. You are expected to lead.
You will work hand-in-hand with the Project Manager and report directly to senior leadership. That means clear communication up the chain and real authority on the ground. When something needs to move, you move it. When a sub falls short, you address it immediately — not at the next meeting.
The right person for this role has done this before. They read drawings like a second language, know how to sequence a busy site, and hold crews accountable without losing their trust. If that describes you, this is a role where your work will be visible and your results will matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive the daily and weekly production schedule
- Break the project schedule into clear daily tasks for each trade on site
- Ensure all crews are sequenced efficiently with no idle time
- Lead daily site huddles and weekly execution planning meetings
- Identify and remove bottlenecks in real time — do not let problems compound
- Direct and coordinate all subcontractors on site
- Enforce scope clarity and sequencing discipline across all trades
- Hold subs accountable to schedule commitments, quality standards, and manpower levels
- Reject incomplete or substandard work immediately and document accordingly
- Inspect all work before it is covered — no exceptions
- Ensure alignment with construction drawings, specifications, and company standards
- Identify and document deficiencies early; manage close-out of non-conformance items
- Maintain quality standards throughout the project, not just at final inspection
- Maintain and actively manage the project schedule throughout construction
- Provide weekly updates including completed work, delays, and recovery plans
- Drive trades to meet critical path milestones without exception
- Enforce all OSHA and company safety standards on site
- Conduct regular safety meetings and site walkthroughs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized site at all times
- Address unsafe conditions immediately — no deferred action on safety
- Maintain real-time project documentation in Buildertrend, SharePoint, and CompanyCam
- Submit daily logs, progress photos, QA/QC checklists, and incident reports on schedule
- Ensure field data is accurate, complete, and timely
- Provide clear, timely updates to the Project Manager and senior leadership
- Coordinate with the PM on RFIs, design conflicts, and change conditions
- Represent the company professionally with owners, architects, and inspectors
- Escalate issues only when necessary — and always with a proposed solution
Ideal Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a superintendent on commercial or multifamily projects
- Proven ability to manage multiple trades simultaneously on active jobsites
- Track record of delivering projects on schedule with documented quality outcomes
- Strong knowledge of wood framing, structural systems, and MEP coordination
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with scheduling tools and field documentation platforms
- Familiarity with Buildertrend, CompanyCam, or similar field technology is a plus
- Direct, clear communicator who can hold crews and subs accountable without drama
- Comfortable escalating issues to leadership with a proposed solution — not just a problem
- Valid driver's license required
